Republic Bank continued its emphasis on service excellence by recognizing the contributions of outstanding employees during the past year at its annual staff party and awards event held at Mahogany Ridge.
The awards were presented in two position classifications 1-10 and 30-52 - team member and supervisory staff as well as branch and department/unit.
When the much anticipated announcements were made, the 2018 Managing Director’s Spirit of Republic Awards went to Joy Anne Christie – Assistant Manager, Sales and Marketing, Card Services department; and Jade Carter – Support Clerk, Corporate & Commercial Credit Unit who was the most outstanding team member.
Leading the way in the branch awards, Limegrove Branch took the honour for Branch of the Year. Limegrove achieved the best performance of other income to budget, exceeded its target for loans and deposits and placed in the top three for employee engagement and customer service.
The Card Services Department was toasted as the Unit of the Year Award having recorded significant achievements with respect to its clean-up of accounts, regularising customer files and improving employee engagement scores from a low of 41% in 2016 to an average of 71.5% in 2018.
Other Spirit of Republic award nominees in the support staff category included Andre Gittens – Technical Support Officer, Information Technology Department and Deanne Burrowes – Support Clerk, Securities, RBMC. In the supervisory category, other nominees were Kevin Freeman – Senior Supervisor Support, Corporate and Commercial Credit; and Ndomo Sobers – Network Analyst, Information Technology Department.
The attributes of a Managing Director’s Spirit of Republic nominee include living the Republic Bank core values; outstanding performance; punctuality and attendance; and going above and beyond the call of duty. Branches and departments/units are recognised for customer service, overall attendance and business achievement while branches are recognised for customer service, overall attendance and business growth.
